Today in my kindergarten groups, we worked on counting syllables. The students looked at food picture cards, clapped the syllables, and sorted them into the numbered lunch boxes! Since I didn't have real lunch boxes, I put the printed lunch boxes in sheet protectors so the kids could slide the pictures into those. They loved it!
